Once you've scheduled a call using your message, it's time to get on the phone and impress your match. Impress them with the research you've put in.
Send a Calendar Invite
- Send calendar invite to their email
- Include the phone number to call in the notes section of the event
- Name the event: Call (Their name & Your Name)
Outline of a Call
Make it seem like all things in your life have built up to this phone call and your ask is an ultimatum. Show the results of the research you have put in.
- Create a separate doc for each call for these Qs and notes
- Prep call with 3-5 questions after doing research
- Ex. I saw you did X. What do you think about X?
- Start call with 5 mins of chit chat
- Transition with "now I'd love to tell you a little bit about myself, then maybe I could hear a bit about your background, and then I'd love to ask you some questions. Does that sound good?"
- Give them your story
- What does a good story look like? Not totally sure, but here is the gist of mine:
- Listen to their story
- Ask your questions
Follow up with a Thank you
- It makes you stick out in their minds, especially if you make it personal.
